In-Person PIN Community Service Meeting

COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARDS

INTRODUCTION

In keeping with the goal of sharing ideas that benefit school communities, PIN established a Community Service Awards program that recognizes community service projects at member schools. While all community service projects have merit and are important to our students’ learning, PIN seeks to acknowledge and share projects that exemplify one or more of the following qualities:

PROJECT PERIOD

Special Recognition Awards (with Grant Awards, where applicable) are awarded to schools in acknowledgement of community service projects that have taken place between March 31, 2024 and March 31, 2025. Applications are submitted online via a fillable form, and can be found here:

APPLICATION TIMELINE

December 2, 2024 … Dues must be paid by this deadline in order for service projects to be considered.

April 3, 2025 … Application Due Date

May 6, 2025 at 12pm … Community Service Award Event via Zoom

*Please Note: applications received after the submission deadline will not be eligible for awards.

AWARD TYPES

• Special Recognition | Acknowledgement of a service project. ALL projects are considered for Special Recognition. Recipients receive an award certificate.
• Grant Awards | Monetary reimbursement for a completed project, up to $500 per project. Projects may apply for a grant award in addition to a recognition certificate. Eligible expenses are subject to the following limitations:

  • ●  No eligibility for “pass through” expenses, such as:
    • ○  cash donations made by member schools to charities/organizations
    • ○  items purchased for donation that are not meaningfully interacted with by the membercommunity; for example: costs of food items purchased and directly donated are not eligible; costs of food items purchased and used by PIN school community members to cook meals for donation are eligible
  • ●  No eligibility for shipping, postage, or transportation costs
  • ●  No eligibility for app, software, digital subscription services
    Grant checks are mailed to the CFO/business office at member schools, not individuals, and are distributed at their discretion.
